An introductory meeting of the International Expert Group on the IT Agenda of the Northern Regions was held on the sidelines of the XV International IT Forum

On June 19, 2024, during the XV International IT Forum with the participation of
the BRICS and SCO countries in Khanty-Mansiysk, the first introductory meeting
of the International Expert Group of the Northern Forum on the IT Agenda of the
regions was held. The meeting was attended by experts from 4 countries: Russia,
China, India and Iceland.

According to the results of the XV General Assembly of the Northern Forum, held
in July 2023, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug – Ugra is the presiding region in
the International Organization of Northern Regions “Northern Forum” for 2023-
2025, Ugra State University is the co-chairman of the Russian-Asian Consortium
for Arctic Research. A list of instructions has been formed for the development of
international interregional cooperation, including the creation of an international
expert group on the IT agenda of the regions.

Since the beginning of 2024, the Secretariat of the Northern Forum has been
working with member regions and partners to invite relevant specialists to join the
group.

At the first introductory meeting of the International Expert Group of the Northern
Forum on the IT Agenda of the regions, the participants spoke about the directions
of their work. The idea of creating an expert group was supported, and a collective
decision was made to organize a series of online meetings until September in order
to get to know each other better, expand the number of experts and discuss specific
areas of cooperation. It was decided to hold the next face-to-face meeting within
the framework of the Northern Forum on Sustainable Development.
