Natalia Komarova: residents of small towns are active participants in the creative economy

Natalya Komarova, Project Coordinator of the Council of the Eurasian Women's Forum “Eurasian Union of Women-Regional Leaders”, took part in the session “The Role of Creative Projects in the Development of Creative Cities” at the Creative Business Forum within the framework of SPIEF-2021. The session discussed the prospects for creating creative clusters, the possibility of replicating successful practices, as well as measures to support residents involved in the transformation of territories, including small towns and rural settlements. Natalya Komarova said that Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug-Yugra is the first constituent entity of the Russian Federation where a law on creative industries has been adopted. She noted that residents of small territories are important participants in the creative economy, who can use their uniqueness for the development of tourism and handicrafts. Creative teams from monotowns participate in the Marathon "Women's Initiatives in Territorial Development", which is taking place in preparation for the third Eurasian Women's Forum. The fourth, final stage of the Marathon - "Comfortable urban environment" starts in July. The winners of the Marathon Women's Initiatives in Territorial Development ", selected by the expert commission of the EWF Council, will take part in the third Eurasian Women's Forum.
