Cooperation between Ugra and the Gabonese Republic was discussed at the Eurasian Women's Forum

Governor of Ugra Natalya Komarova held a number of working meetings on the sidelines of the third Eurasian Women's Forum, where she discussed cooperation and participation in the project “Eurasian Union of Women-Regional Leaders”.

Thus, the head of the region met with the regional director of the UN-Women program for Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Aliya El-Yasir. The parties discussed interaction with the association to obtain consultative status at the UN Economic and Social Council.

Natalya Komarova, welcoming Mrs. Aliyei El-Yasir, noted the great work of the association in establishing coordination mechanisms for solving problems of gender equality, empowering women.

In addition, Natalia Komarova spoke about the created Internet portal "Eurasian Association of Women Regional Leaders".
“In modern conditions, the presence of an Internet platform is relevant. Using it, women leaders online exchange practices, including on overcoming the economic consequences of the pandemic. At present, the portal contains information about 200 members of the association, more than 200 practices tested in the regions and ready for replication from 30 countries of the world, 28 regions of the Russian Federation have been selected, ”the Governor emphasized.

Natalia Komarova noted that the Eurasian Union of Women Regional Leaders headed by her is ready to expand expert, business, humanitarian missions, works with major international organizations. The head of the region announced the initiative of the members of the association to create the Public Diplomacy Fund "Eurasian Association of Women - Regional Leaders" with further access to consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. During the meeting, the parties discussed the mechanism for implementing this initiative.

“I ask you, dear Mrs. El-Yasir, to support the unification initiative,” Natalya Komarova addressed.

“I am very happy to be here. Over the past six months, we have actively worked with our organization's headquarters to convey the strategic importance of our organization. It is extremely important for us to participate in intergovernmental and interstate forums, and we are trying to look for partners, ”stressed the regional director of the UN Women program for Europe and Central Asia.

In addition, Natalia Komarova held a working meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Gabonese Republic to the Russian Federation, Mrs. Joanna Rose Mamiaka. The Governor noted that representatives of the African continent are permanent participants of the IT Forum, Ugra is interested in further continuation of cooperation.

“One of the possible areas of cooperation is education. We have an extensive network of professional education organizations. This year, a preparatory department for teaching Russian language to foreign applicants begins at Ugra State University. The first listeners will be 12 people from Zambia, ”said Natalya Komarova.

Let us emphasize that the project of the distance preparatory faculty was implemented for the first time in the history of Russian education in the course of a joint initiative of Ugra University and the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichestvo in Zambia.

I agree that we have many joint projects that need to be discussed and in which it is necessary to continue cooperation, ”the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Gabonese Republic to the Russian Federation addressed the Governor.
